All of us are entitled to have a part of his wonders if we, are but humble and, choose to be guided by his spirit to serve and commune with Him in our daily lives. We can also be partakers of his love if we give love as well. We are his children, and He loves us as such; He waits for us to ask in faith, and He will bless our lives every time we do so. Let us put our trust in Him. Faith has great consequences. Let us put His words to the test, for He is a God of miracles, but He will not work his mighty miracles if we do not have faith.
If we subject ourselves to the Lord, He will teach us all the things we need to know for our own good. Every time we are tried and tested, we ought to ask ourselves this question: What am I to learn from this experience? Whom am I to help? And How can I grow and become strong?
I myself have had many experiences that I would love to share with seekers of light and truth. My sharing and writing these truths will bless my life. I will be judged by my Savior and will not feel ashamed of anything written on these pages, for I will seek the guidance of the Spirit. I know that I cannot fail with His enlightenment. "And that he manifesteth himself unto all those who believe in him, . . . working mighty miracles, signs, and wonders, among the children of men according to their faith" (2 Nephi 26:13). In that same chapter we read (verse 24) that everything we see Him do is for our own benefit. He even gave His own life that we be His. This blessing is given to everyone; it is our choice to follow Him and receive exaltation.
And now, my beloved brethren, if this be the case that these things are true which I have spoken unto you, and God will show unto you, with power and great glory at the last day, that they are true, and if they are true has the day of miracles ceased? Moroni 7:35.
At times, even people with a religious background may not believe in miracles but will reject the idea of a supreme being behind such events. These are people who are not spiritual, or they are the carnal man who does not have a way to explain or recognize the hand of God in all things.
The testimony we gain from reading this book can lead us to a knowledge of opportunities for righteous service, which will be a blessing as we gradually become aware of the great value of our fore ordination and the great love our Father above has for each and every one of us. We all have witnessed many miracles, though some of us might be confused about what they mean; some of us may not like to remember them or share them, since we have no logical explanation of what has happened.
We at times cannot explain or duplicate these unexplainable events, but we can recognize that there is a supreme being, all-mighty, all-knowing and all-powerful, who watches over us. At times when we may say we don't believe in such things, our lives will be touched by one of these inexplicable events.
According to the Bible Dictionary in the King James Version: "miracles are called signs, as being visible tokens of an invisible power; they are powers or mighty works, because they are the acts of One who is almighty; they are simply works, or the natural results of the Messiah's presence among men; they are wonders, marvels, because of the effect produced on those who saw them." According to the Easton's Bible Dictionary: a miracle is "an event in the external world brought about by the immediate agency or the simple volition of God, operating without the use of means capable of being discerned by the senses, and designed to authenticate the divine commission of a religious teacher and the truth of his message. It is an occurrence at once above nature and above man. It shows the intervention of a power that is not limited by the laws either of matter or of mind, a power interrupting the fixed laws which govern their movements, a supernatural power." Also according to Katherine Anne Porter a miracle is "an event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God: Miracles are spontaneous, they cannot be summoned, but come of themselves."
A God of Miracles contains the personal testimony of everyday people in a society full of challenges and trials, who like any of us, through their faith in our Savior Jesus Christ have witnessed mighty miracles in their lives and have a vivid testimony of how the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost accomplish their desires here on earth.
Being extremely blessed with a life of miracles ever since I was a little baby, I decided I would share with the world my testimony of my God of miracles. I exist because of a miracle that happened to me at a very young age.
One Sunday afternoon, after coming from church and listening to the brethren, and believing that a miracle is something that happened in the old days and that we are not living in a day of miracles anymore, that miracles are things that people lived in the times of Christ, I was inspired that miracles are something that don't pertain to this world. As I pondered these answers, a very strong feeling came to me that I should remind these, my brethren, that God is indeed a God of miracles, and He is the same yesterday today and forever. But he cannot perform any miracles unless we show faith in Him.
I know that it will be a good source for the people of the promise to be converted to the true gospel of Christ. It will instill in them a little curiosity about what the scriptures contain, as written by the hand of prophets of old, as well as modern. It is also written to remind us all to draw closer to our Savior, in heart, in mind, and in deed. It is to strengthen testimonies and to testify that God is beyond doubt a God of Miracles.

Preface

Because I have been prompted to write this book by the Holy Spirit, I should allow no one to take away this privilege or to discourage this cause, for it will strengthen and enlighten lives and testimonies of many members and nonmembers of the only church that has been restored in these latter days with the fullness of the gospel of Christ our Lord and God.

Introduction

Dedicatory

I dedicate this book to my God of miracles, my family; Jake, Bellana, Josette and Kimsey and the ones I have not yet met (Jacob, Yeshuah & Hiram). To my parents, the poor and the needy, and the afflicted people of my country Guatemala.

A God of Miracles

For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith. 2 Nephi 27:23

I give special thanks to my husband for he is my inspiration and strength. He is a pure example of faith.
